This week’s FOM adventures…

We played around with different statements!

“If a boy is wearing a purple shirt, he is automatically attractive.”

Contrapositive: “If a boy is not attractive, he is not wearing a purple shirt.”

Converse: “If a boy is attractive, he is wearing a purple shirt.”

Inverse: “If a boy is not wearing a purple shirt, he is not attractive.”

The contra-positive of statement has the same “truth value” as the original statement!

We also talked about how to prove certain things! To prove existence claims, you have to construct a t and show that t is true!

Proof by induction!

1) Prove the base case is true (the initial value of n)

2) The inductive step: Proving that if statement is true for k, then it is true for k+1.

My calc students had an exam on Tuesday and I made this video for them to give them some tips for taking derivatives! Haha enjoy!
